Why You Don't Need 4K

With more and more 4K monitors and televisions coming out, its hard for some people to decide whether the time is correct to pick one up. Following are some of the major factors to think about when thinking about a 4K monitor, especially for gaming.

The Resolution
The amount of pixels per inch in a relatively 'small' 4K monitor is too high, which basically means that unless you have 'great' eyes, you aren't going to be able to distinguish pixels from each other. This becomes unwanted unless you're going to be multitasking with several programs (like video editing or photo editing) on one screen.

The Price
Simply because of the sheer number of pixels and their density, the price of event he cheapest 4K monitor is easily above $700. And after that, of you are looking to game, you'll need a system of at least $800 to be able to do so with quality games.

Support
Believe it or not, until the consoles start outputting 4K, most games won't fully utilize the feature. Sure they may have the option in the settings, and they'll change the HUD, but who're we kidding? Games are developed for the consoles, the PC just gets to run them, so its unlikely that major titles will add 4K support to their games this early on.
